Join us for Treat the Teach, a socially distanced, masked-up, limited-attendance event to kick off the 2020-2021 school year.

As with so many events in 2020, our kickoff for this school year will be a little different. Be sure to read our COVID-19 safety measures below.

Join us at NewBo City Market for Treat the Teach on October 13 from 4 to 6:30pm! (There are three time blocks to choose from!) We’ll have the La Reyna and Aroma food trucks on hand, serving up Mexican dishes and wood-fired pizza. (Yep, our treat!) There will be water and soft drinks available (served in individual bottles and cans) from NewBo Beer and Wine inside the market. You may get your food and drink to go, or sit at one of the many socially distanced tables on the patio, in the market yard, or inside the market’s Rotary Hall.

Stop by the sponsor tables to pick up your freebies! Get a set of ear buds with a storage pouch, courtesy of Linn Area Credit Union; a package of 50 disposable masks provided by Storey Kenworthy; and a travel-sized bottle of hand sanitizer from Equitable Advisors|Bosch Financial, Inc.

Plus, you’ll have a chance to win more great stuff! (Our sponsors are really bringin’ it!) All registered attendees will automatically be entered for a chance to win one of three $50 NewBo City Market gift cards (one during each time block), courtesy of Linn Area Credit Union. Speaking of gift cards, drop your name in the jar at the Equitable table to be in the running for one of five $50 VISA gift cards. All registered attendees will also have a chance to win a wine tasting for two valued at $50, donated by Vineria and a Fellowes Halo 125 laminator from Storey Kenworthy — a $149 value! (You do NOT need to be present to win!)

Don’t forget to stock up on school supplies at the Teacher Store! We’ll give you five Teacher Bucks, just for showing up. (Use them at Treat the Teach or hold onto them for your next shopping trip!) Items will be placed on tables outside, so you may socially distance yourself while shopping in the open air. (Face coverings are required while shopping.)

Sponsored by Linn Area Credit Union, Storey Kenworthy, Equitable Advisors|Bosch Financial, Inc., and Toyota Financial Services.

COVID-19 Safety Measures
This is a private event. NewBo City Market will be closed to the public.

We’ll be gathering in shifts, so you can sign up for one of three time blocks during the event. Please plan to come and go during the time block so others can come in during their allotted time. There are a limited number of tickets available for each time block.

You may only reserve one ticket, so if you’d like to attend with others from your school, please discuss among yourselves, decide on a time, and encourage everyone to sign up for the same time block.

Masks are required when you are not seated and actively eating or drinking. If you have forgotten your mask, we will have a limited supply of disposable masks available.

Social distancing is expected. Please stay at least six feet apart from people you don’t usually hang out with.

Enhanced hygiene protocols will be in place. Please be sure to do your part by washing your hands and using hand sanitizer as necessary.

If the CDC, Governor Reynolds, or the Iowa Department of Public Health issue additional guidelines, we will implement those as well.
